Get an orthopedic evaluation without leaving home. A virtual consult is a video call with Dr. Jaime Ulloa Gil, an orthopedist and traumatologist with a focus on sports medicine, where we go over your problem, your studies, and the next steps together.

What it can and can't do
By video I can take your history, perform a guided physical exam, review your imaging and reports, give you a working diagnosis, a treatment plan, and rehab guidance, and order imaging or refer you when needed.
A virtual consult can't do everything. Some cases need an in-person exam or additional imaging; if yours does, I'll tell you clearly and advise you on how to arrange it. Virtual consults are not for emergencies: for a serious injury or warning signs, go to an emergency service or call 911.

Imaging (X-rays, ultrasound, MRI, CT) and prior medical reports.
A list of the medications you take.
Comfortable clothing that lets you show the area that bothers you.
A quiet, well-lit space with room to move.
A working camera, microphone, and internet connection.
How to share your studies
Have your studies at hand during the video call, or share them as instructed in your appointment confirmation.
After the consult
You'll know what's going on and what to do next: you'll receive your treatment plan, any imaging orders or referrals you need, and a follow-up recommendation if needed.

Do I need imaging before the consult?
Not necessarily. If you already have studies, bring them; if you need any, I'll let you know during the consult.
What if I need an in-person exam?
I'll tell you clearly and advise you on the next steps so you get the right care.
Can I book from outside Costa Rica?
Yes. You can book online from anywhere; just keep Costa Rica time in mind when choosing your appointment.
What language is the consult in?
